WARDROBE MERCHANT was founded on the 1st of January 2014 by Obis Oragwu.

Wardrobe Merchant was birthed from a passion of wanting women to look good at a bargain and also replace the clutter (in your Wardrobe, home or store) with money. We are Nigeria’s foremost declutter and resale company and we partner with individuals, SMEs etc. in the fashion industry to consistently deliver trendy, eye-catching and stylish pieces to our customers.

We serve our customers by providing high street and sometimes luxury items on a budget while ensuring that quality is not compromised. The brand’s ideology is to create financial empowerment for both men and women with the belief that you can convert your declutter to cash. Wardrobe Merchant is an entity with culture, character and recognized as a champion of the people, where anyone that wants to declutter can earn some money both as a full time or side project.

Obiamaka Oragwu is a Sales expert, Entrepreneur and Fashion influencer with over 10 years of experience in the petroleum, software and fashion industry. She holds a first degree in Geology from the University of Ghana and a Masters degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom.

She combined her love for fashion and all things beauty to build a brand, Wardrobe Merchant, a company that helps individuals and businesses make money from their wardrobe or stores, by helping them to sell off their brand new or next-to-new pieces to people who cannot afford to buy them at the original price.

Since the launch of her company, Wardrobe Merchant, in 2017, her company has grown exponentially to attract customers from other countries in Africa and beyond. Her brand has now become a household name especially for the middle class in Nigeria. Wardrobe Merchant is a grant winner from the Tony Elumelu Foundation.

As a style Maestro, her brand Obis Ora has also created a community of over 116,000 married and single women that she inspires to live their best lives and not look like their problems. They connect, learn, engage and encourage one another through fashion and beauty. She has been numerously nominated and awarded as one of Nigeria’s top brand influencers in the fashion and beauty industry. She was also listed in Guardian Woman by YNaija, Leading Ladies Africa as Nigeria’s top 100 most inspiring women for 2020.

She is also passionate about women empowerment and has been able to contribute to the lives of many women globally; especially new mothers, wives and businesswomen, through various workshops and webinars, letting them know that they can still build thriving businesses and look good while raising their families. She has helped thousands of women to not just look good, but feel good. Most of all, that they can be all that they hope to be without being ashamed.
